Amber is our Student of the Season this Spring. Amber started learning Spanish in year 7 at school, she initially preferred French but quickly realised Spanish was easier and started enjoying it more. Having studied it in year 7, 8 and 9 Amber then chose to take it as a GCSE subject. Picking Spanish seemed like an obvious choice for her as she loved her teachers and thought it would be useful in the future.
Amber finds learning the tenses and grammar the hardest, she finds them hard to remember and struggles to know when to use them. However, she says the app Quizlet and her extracurricular tuition lessons have help her come on since then and she is now predicted an A. Amber has picked to take Spanish next year for A levels as she wants the opportunity to keep learning it and using it more, it is all too easy to have your Spanish lesson and forget everything immediately. In the future Amber would love to travel round Spain and Latin America using her Spanish and maybe even settle there in the future.
Amber finds writing Spanish the easiest aspect of learning, she puts this down to being able to visualise what she is saying. Her advice to a new student would be to do your homework, we’d have to say we’d agree with her on that one. We would like to congratulate Amber on all her hard work and wish her the very best of luck with her results this summer.
