At Private Spanish Tuition IOM, we love celebrating students who show dedication, enthusiasm and a real commitment to improving their Spanish skills — and this season’s spotlight goes to Leon! 👏

Leon has worked incredibly hard throughout his lessons, showing fantastic progress and a positive attitude every week. We asked him a few questions about his experience learning Spanish so far and his goals for the future.

Why did you start learning Spanish?

“I decided to start learning Spanish because it is the second most spoken language in the world.”

Learning a language that is spoken across so many countries opens up opportunities for travel, communication and future career options — a brilliant reason to start learning!

What’s been the most difficult thing to learn?

“Probably ER and AR verbs because I never knew the endings.”

Verb endings can definitely be one of the trickiest parts of learning Spanish at the beginning, but Leon has shown great perseverance and continues to improve every lesson.

What’s been the easiest thing to learn?

“Numbers, because they are short and easy to remember.”

It’s always great when students find confidence early on in certain topics, and building that confidence is such an important part of language learning.

What’s your best tip for anyone starting to learn Spanish?

“When you start learning Spanish, just listen because you never know if you try.”

A brilliant piece of advice — listening regularly is one of the best ways to improve pronunciation, vocabulary and confidence.

What’s been your best tool when learning tricky topics?

“Probably looking back in your book for help.”

Revision and reviewing previous work is such an important habit when learning a language, and Leon’s progress shows how valuable this can be.

What do you hope to achieve in the future with Spanish?

“I really like travelling and since lots of people speak Spanish, it would make travelling easier. I also want to work on my Spanish GCSEs.”

We love hearing students connect language learning with real-life goals, whether that’s travelling, building confidence abroad or succeeding in exams.

Leon should be incredibly proud of the effort he’s put into his Spanish this season. His attitude, consistency and willingness to keep learning have made him a pleasure to teach.

¡Enhorabuena, Leon! 🇪🇸🎉
